Sloppy Joe Pretzel

Ingredients: 1 to 2 portions

1 – 5.5 oz. San Diego Pretzel Co. Bavarian Pretzel

Pretzel salt

¾ cup sloppy joe mixture (see next recipe)

Fresh tarragon sprigs

Method: Spray pretzel with a fine mist of water, sprinkle with pretzel salt, and place in a preheated 400 degree oven for 3 minutes to heat pretzel.  Place pretzel on plate and spoon out sloppy Joe mixture into the center of the pretzel and top with fresh tarragon sprigs.

Ingredients for Sloppy Joe: 3 cups

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 lb. ground beef

2 cloves garlic, minced

2/3 cup chopped onions

1 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1 medium size chopped tomato

1 cup beef broth

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

¾ cup ketchup

Method:   Heat olive oil in a skillet over a medium high heat.  Add beef, garlic, onions, salt and pepper.  Cook until meat loses red color, stirring occasionally.  Drain off any excess fat.  Stir in tomato, broth, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup.  Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes until desired consistency.
